The Railway Recruitment Boards has officially released the RRB ALP Recruitment 2026 Notification under CEN No. 01/2026 for a massive 11,127 Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) vacancies across different railway zones in India. Candidates with ITI, Diploma, or Engineering Degree qualifications can apply online from 15 May 2026 to 14 June 2026 through the official RRB websites.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must fulfill one of the following qualifications:

Option 1 – Matriculation + ITI

• Passed 10th/SSLC
• ITI from NCVT/SCVT in trades such as:
• Electrician
• Fitter
• Wireman
• Electronics Mechanic
• Diesel Mechanic
• Machinist
• Turner
• Refrigeration & AC Mechanic
• Tractor Mechanic

OR completed apprenticeship in these trades.

Option 2 – Diploma/Degree in Engineering

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile Engineering
  OR
• Degree in the above disciplines are also eligible.

• OBC (NCL): 3 years
• SC/ST: 5 years

The RRB ALP Recruitment 2026 selection process consists of five stages:

1. CBT-1 (Screening Test)

• 75 Questions
• 75 Marks
• Duration: 60 Minutes

Negative Marking

• 1/3 mark deducted for wrong answers.

2. CBT-2

Part A

• 100 Questions
• 100 Marks

3. CBAT (Computer Based Aptitude Test)

5. Medical Examination

ALP post requires A-1 Medical Standard, which includes strict eyesight requirements.

• Lasik surgery candidates are NOT eligible
