Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.

The graduation result must have been declared on or before 31 July 2026. Candidates registered under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) must have obtained their graduation result between 01 March 2022 and 31 July 2026.

Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend based on the branch category.

  • Metro Branches – ₹15,500 per month
  • Urban Branches – ₹14,500 per month
  • Semi-Urban/Rural Branches – ₹14,000 per month

For candidates selected through NATS, a part of the stipend is provided by the Government through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), while the remaining amount is paid by the bank.

Apprentices are not eligible for additional allowances or employee benefits, as the engagement is purely under the Apprentices Act.

IOB Apprentice Exam Pattern

The selection process begins with an online written examination.

The exam consists of 100 objective-type questions carrying 100 marks. The duration of the examination is 90 minutes.

The subjects included in the examination are:

  • General & Financial Awareness
  • General English
  • Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning
  • Computer Knowledge or Subject Knowledge

The examination will be conducted online using the candidate's own desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone with a working front camera.

Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks decided by the bank. A relaxation of 5% is available for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates. There is no sectional qualifying mark.
