SSC CHSL Vacancy 2026

SSC has announced approximately 2,536 tentative vacancies for the CHSL 2026 recruitment.

The vacancies are for:

SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must fulfil the prescribed nationality, educational qualification and age requirements.

Nationality

A candidate must generally be:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Candidates falling under the specified migrated categories require an eligibility certificate from the Government of India.

 

SSC CHSL Educational Qualification 2026

The minimum educational qualification is generally 12th Standard pass or equivalent from a recognized Board/University.

However, the qualification differs for certain DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ positions.

LDC/JSA

Candidates must have:

Yes. Candidates who have appeared in their Class 12 examination can apply, provided their qualifying result is declared on or before 07 October 2026.

A result that is still under process on the cut-off date will not satisfy the qualification requirement.

 

SSC CHSL Age Limit 2026

Candidates should have been born not before 02 August 1999 and not later than 01 August 2008.

Selected candidates will receive salary according to the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix.

LDC / JSA

DEO

Depending on the post, DEO candidates will be placed in:

  • Pay Level-4: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100
  • Pay Level-5: ₹29,200 – ₹92,300

DEO Grade ‘A’

  • Pay Level: Level-4
  • Pay Scale: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100

The notification does not specify exact in-hand or gross salary figures because these depend on applicable allowances and posting.

 

SSC CHSL Application Fee 2026
